You've just settled into your new house and... Dang it! You've lost your cats! You know they love getting into your stuff, so you'll need to find them before they get into anything! Cat-tastrophe is a chill, short game of kitty hide and seek about going around the small house you now call home and finding your cats in all the different places they wait for you.

PLEASE NOTE: I don't have a Mac or a Linux, so I was unable to test if they work alright on those. It does work just fine on Windows, though. They probably won't have the game's icon, either.

So this is my third game! As such, don't expect a whole lot from it in terms of quantity, but what's there, I'm happy about! I do have an idea of how I can expand the game in the future, increasing the map size immensely and in turn, the hiding spots plus some other things. However, I may decide to work on other projects in the end instead.

And yes, I understand that you cannot test it on Mac/Linux, just i wanna say I am on the latest version of MacOS and it says it is not verified, I can test the game on my MacBook if you want to.

That would be awesome! Thank you! Let me know how it goes! Especially what you're doing in game if it breaks. Again, thanks!

Nice hide-and-seek game :) Short but fun. Video:

A few small issues:

  • Pressing ESC in game does something strange instead of getting into Pause menu and allowing to adjust settings - have to set mouse sensitivity blindly, it was oversensitive by default for me.

  • 2 out of 3 games I’ve got the cat in an inaccessible corner - I can see it plainly, but can’t click it no matter how hard I try (also in the second game in the video - a shorter version :))

  • It could be good to have the count of found and hiding cats.

  • I have no idea what a COOL person means in settings :D

Wow, only a couple hours and it already has a video! And thank you for the feedback!

The issue of pressing escape and also there being no cat count was because the UI wasn't visible, which was on me! I turned it off to get screenshots and forgot to turn it back on! Now it's fixed!

I'm wondering if you couldn't click on the inaccessible cat because the crosshair wasn't visible, making it hard to click it. Hopefully that was the issue with that.

The "Being a COOL person" in the settings is entirely for fun! It's my way of saying that you're COOL!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I wouldn't have figured out the UI issue had you not said anything. And I'm so glad you enjoyed the game!

I realized you were talking about the yellow cat and fixed the REAL issue! Sorry about that!
